- Princess
Danae
was originally built in 1955 as the cargo liner Port Melbourne
for Port Line. Sold in 1972 and renamed Therissos Express.
She was converted to a cruise ship in 1976 and renamed Danae.
Costa took her on charter in 1979, and bought her in 1985. She
was badly damaged by fire at Venice in 1991, reappearing as Starlight
Princess then Baltica before being sold to Arcalia
Shiping (who also own Funchal) and renamed Princess Danae in
1996.

were taken by Ian Boyle on 22nd May 1999, when Princess Danae
left on a cruise to the Norwegian fjords. She is under charter
to UK travel firm Travelsphere, and wears their funnel banner.
