Midnight Merchant
(Norfolk Line: 2000- )
179.95 m long - 22152 gross tons - 23760 kW - 22.5 knots - 214 passengers - 2130 lane metres
Midnight Merchant
was built by Astilleros Espanoles S.A. (AESA), Spain, for Cenargo in 2000. She entered service under charter with Norfolk Line between Dover and Dunkerque in October 2000. Her sisters were
Dawn Merchant
and
Northern Merchant
. In August 2006 she was chartered to Acciona Trasmediterranea and renamed
El Greco
. She entered service from the mainland Spanish ports of Barcelona and Valencia to Palma, Eivissa and Maó. In June 2007,
El Greco
was sold to P&O Ferries. She was delivered in October and renamed
European Endeavour
. She was used during winter 2007/2008 to cover over vessels during their overhauls, initially between Liverpool-Dublin and from 11th January 2008 between Dover and Calais, using the same Dover berth she had used with Norfolk Line.
