This is the record of a 13 night cruise taken on
board Cunard's Queen Victoria from Southampton on 17th August 2009. This page covers
Friday 21st August in Barcelona.
We arrived in Barcelona to find Ventura, Crystal Serenity and
AIDAbella already berthed. The Costa Concordia and
MSC
Fantasia followed us in. Coral also arrived shortly
afterwards. We were first off the ship, some time before the free shuttle
buses started, and so decided to walk. This allowed photography of Queen
Victoria and Coral from the bridge over the shipping channel,
but showed early on that extensive walking in high 30s temperatures. It
seems churlish to complain, but the weather was far to hot for most of the
cruise. Surprisingly, the skies remained deep blue and visibility was not
impaired by heat haze despite the temperatures.
