Finlandia - Queen of Scandinavia - Princess Maria


This page is devoted to postcards and photographs of Silja Line ferry Finlandia of 1981, which has served with DFDS as Queen of Scandinavia since 1990. Her sister was the Silvia Regina.

 in 1990 for use on their Copenhagen-Helsingborg-Oslo overnight service. In 2001 she switched to the Newcastle-Ijmuiden route, replaced by the Pearl of Scandinavia at Oslo. In May 2007 moved to the Newcastle-Norway route until it closed in August 2008 when she was laid up. In April 2010 chartered to St Peter Line for use between Helsinki and St Petersburg as the Princess Maria.

Finlandia
Silja Line: 1981-1990
 
Finlandia was built in 1981 by Oy Wärtsilä Ab for Finska Ångfartygs Ab. She entered service between Stockholm-Helsinki for Silja Line. Finlandia was sold to DFDS in 1990 as the Queen of Scandinavia for use on their Copenhagen-Helsingborg-Oslo overnight service.

Queen of Scandinavia was built in 1981 as Finlandia for EFFOA (part of Silja Line). She was sold to DFDS in 1990 for use on their Copenhagen-Oslo overnight service. In 2001 she switched to the Newcastle-Ijmuiden route, replaced by the Pearl of Scandinavia.
