43: C.R.Hoffmann, Southampton, postcard of Prinses Juliana (8085 grt). She was sold in 1930 to KNSM, becoming their Costa Rica. She was lost in WW2 in 1941. This ship had a sister, Koningin Der Nederlanden, in the fleet 1912-1932.

44: I.L.Maduro, Panama, card of Koningin Der Nederlanden (8205 grt). The card was posted from the Canal Zone to the USA in August 1926. Note the name of the ship and home port Amsterdam in large letters on the ship's side. This ship had a sister, Prinses Juliana, in the fleet 1910-1930.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Prins Der Nederlanden 1914-1935
 
Built in 1914, Prins Der Nederlanden (9448 grt) was sold to Lloyd Triestino in 1935. She was scuttled as a blockship in Marseille in 1944.

Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft 1926-1932
 
Delivery of Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft (14642 grt) was delayed following a fire that destroyed most of the passenger accommodation. A second fire destroyed the ship in 1932. She was powered by Sulzer diesels of 10500hp, replaced by more powerful Sulzers of 14500hp in 1931.

Christiaan Huygens 1928-1945
 
Christiaan Huygens (15637 grt) was slightly larger version of the Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft, given a short, fashionable, motorship funnel. She served the Amsterdam-Batavia route until WW2, when she was operated by the Orient Line as a troopship until hitting a mine in 1945.

Johan van Oldenbarnevelt 1930-1963
 
Johann van Oldenbarnevelt operated on the Amsterdam-East Indies service until used as a troopship during WW2. Returned to Amsterdam-Indonesia service in 1946. refitted 1959 for round-the world service with new funnel tops, but sold in 1963 to the Greek Line as Lakonia. destroyed by fire the same year.

98: Monochrome and colour official Nederland cards of Oranje (200016 grt). Oranje was sold to Achille Lauro in 1964, becoming the Angelina Lauro. She was lost to fire in 1979.

Groote Beer 1947-1951
 
Groote Beer was one of three emigrant ships owned by the Dutch Government after WW2 (the others were Zuiderkruis and Waterman). She was converted from the Costa Rica Victory, and was used as a troopship under Nederland management. In 1951/2, she was converted to an emigrant carrier, and managed by Holland America. Nederland also managed the Zuiderkruis from 1951-1960.

Zuiderkruis 1951-1960
 
Zuiderkruis was one of three emigrant ships owned by the Dutch Government after WW2 (the others were Groote Beer and Waterman). Nederland also managed the Groote Beer from 1947-1951.
